Can I go on holidays and keep my homestay, and will I need to pay rent while I am away?

Yes, you may apply to keep your room while you are away from your homestay, but this is subject to our terms and conditions, and you will still need to pay rent for the period that you are away. Please read our Payment Policy, Clauses 8-10 for details of possible rent reductions when you are away on holidays.

NOTE: you must inform Study Vision at least 2 weeks (excluding weekends and public holidays) before you plan to go on holidays, so that we have time to make the necessary adjustments. If you do not give 2 weeks notice to Study Vision, you will not be eligible for any possible rent reduction.

Also, there will be no refund or adjustment for any rent that you have already paid before you submit your holiday request.

If you are Under 18 years old, the following additional conditions also apply:
Please note that students under 18 years of age are only allowed to go on holiday, or stay out overnight, with signed approval from their School, College or University and their Caregiver. Make sure your School, College or University and your Caregiver notify Study Vision by email that your holidays are approved, and we will notify your host. The 2 week (excluding weekends and public holidays) notice period will start from when we receive the notification from your School, College or University.

According to the CAAW (Confirmation of Appropriate Accommodation and Welfare) requirements, students under the age of 18 must keep their homestay or accommodation arrangement active during the holiday period, including paying any required rent or welfare fees. This means that even if the student has received school approval to stay elsewhere or go on vacation, they are still required to pay the accommodation fees during their absence in order to maintain the validity of their CAAW.
