Can I go on holidays or a weekend getaway while hosting?

If you are planning to go away for 1 night or more, please inform Study Vision as early as possible.

If you are hosting guests aged under 18 years, they are not allowed to stay at your home without supervision. You may want to arrange for a responsible adult, with a Working With Children Check, to stay at your home to look after your guest. You will need to provide Photo ID and the Working With Children Check for each adult that will be staying at your home while you are away. This arrangement will need to be approved by the student’s school/university and their guardian. Alternatively, Study Vision can arrange for another homestay for your student.

If you are hosting guests aged 18 years or older, you can allow your guests to stay at your home while you are away, if you are comfortable with this arrangement. If you will be away for only 1-2 nights, you can leave meals prepared that your guest can heat up. If you will be away for an extended period, there may be an adjustment to your guest’s rental payments, as they will need to prepare their own meals, subject to the student’s approval of this arrangement.
